DIY Inexpensive Natural Face-Mask that are Rich in Anti-Oxidants

Keeping your skin fresh and healthy is essential and can cost you a fortune. Luckily, there are equally powerful homemade preparations that are both easy and cheap to make right in the comfort of your own home.

Lemon Juice and Banana Face Mask

Lemon contains Vitamin C that bleaches and removes tan, making your skin appear brighter and radiant.

Lemon works as a skin astringent as it helps motivate your pores to close and your face to tighten, resulting in smoother skin. Lemons have antiseptic qualities which help exfoliate dead cells and aid in fighting dandruff and pesky flakes

Mixing lemon with sugar to make a scrub and applying it to the skin, provides an exfoliating effect which helps to get rid of dead cells.

 

You will need:

½ ripe banana

One tablespoon diluted lemon juice

One teaspoon honey

 

Method:

Use a fork to mash the ripe banana in a bowl.

Add honey and lemon. Mix well.

Apply it all over your face.

Leave it on for 15-20 minutes or until it dries.

Wash it off with warm water.

Repeat 2-3 times a week.

 

Turmeric and Egg ‘Face Lift’ Mask

Turmeric contains curcumin, which has potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. 

It eliminates the harmful free radicals that are damaging to the skin. It also enhances collagen production and keeps your skin supple and glowing.

It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial benefits, that can work wonders on condition-riddled skin. It can also h

You will need:

One egg yolk

One pinch ground turmeric

Method:

Mix the yolk, turmeric and oil to make a paste. 

Apply to the face with slow anticlockwise movement.

Let it dry for 20 minutes. 

Rinse with warm water.

Repeat 3 times a week.

 

Honey and Egg Yolk and Moisturizing Mask

Rich in antioxidants & flavonoids, honey has many uses concerning our general health while its antibacterial properties make it suitable for our skin.

When applied on face, honey opens up skin pores to cleanse them and get rid of blackheads. It moisturises your skin, retards wrinkle formation, and keeps it looking youthful.

One of the best methods to use honey is either by using it as a moisturising mask or a Scrub.

 

You will need: 

One Tablespoon buttermilk

One Teaspoon Honey and 

One Egg Yolk

 
Method:

Spread raw honey on clean, dry skin 

Leave on the skin for 20 minutes, all by itself.

Rinse with warm water. 

For a more potent formulation mix buttermilk, honey and egg yolk.

Then apply to the face (avoid the eyes!). 

Leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse.

 

Papaya and Egg White Face Mask                      

Ripe papaya contains papain, an enzyme that acts as a mild exfoliator. It gently removes the top layer of dead cells on the face and makes your skin radiant and younger-looking.

Papaya can improve your complexion courtesy of the active enzymes present in it, like papain. It helps reduce pigmentation and controls acne breakouts and wrinkle formation. Read on to know the best papaya benefits for the skin.

Papaya juice will vanquish pimples and acne. It has terrific skin cleaning properties that will help reduce your susceptibility to acne.

You will need:

1/4 ripe papaya

1/4 cucumber

1/2 banana

 

Method:

Peel and blend all ingredients in a blender until you get a smooth puree.

Slather the mixture onto your face, avoiding the areas around the eyes and mouth. Let it sink in for about 15 minutes.

When the time is up, first use warm water to loosen the face mask.

Finish rinsing off the mask with cold water. Pat your face dry with a clean towel.

 

Cucumber – Oatmeal -Honey Face Mask 

Cucumber is cooling for the skin. It replenishes and rejuvenates dull skin with its antioxidants.

It contains a lot of water (about 96%) and has the ability to reduce the appearance of dark circles. The abundance of antioxidants and silica within cucumber can rejuvenate it quick.

Cold compressing freshly cut cucumber on your face is an excellent way for reducing wrinkles on your skin.

Cucumber with Yogurt can work great on dry and sensitive skin. It works to tighten the pores and reducing irritations on the skin.

You will need:               

½ Unpeeled Cucumber 

One tablespoon of Oatmeal

1 Tablespoon of Honey

Instead of the Oatmeal/Honey You can use Aloe Vera as well.

 
Method:

Blend or puree half an unpeeled cucumber in a blender or food processor until it’s the consistency of a watery paste. 

Separate the juice from any solid bits by pouring the mixture through a strainer. 

Add one tablespoon of oatmeal to the mix. Stir the oatmeal and cucumber (or Aloe Vera) juice until smooth. (If Available)

Add one tablespoon of honey to the mixture and stir until well blended. 

Apply the mixture over your face and neck and massage gently with your fingertips. Let the mask sit on your skin for 15 minutes.

Rinse the mask off with lukewarm water. Pat your face dry with a soft cloth.
